At least once a week I hear someone say I am going to open an online store and make thousands of dollars a month. I just laugh!! Some how this misconception is out there that the internet is easy money. That isn't true, you can make money but it's not easy. That being said here is what I do: I advertise everywhere!!! I sell crafts so I find websites that have to do with crafts and I post in the forums, I post in yahoo groups, news groups, I list my items for sale on Craig's list with a link back to my webstore, I list things on Facebook market with a link back to my webstore, I post comments on blogs, newspaper websites, Facebook pages, I use constant contact and send sale emails once a week, you name it I do it! If you advertise hard you will make your thousands a month, we do very well with our store buy4less.webstore.com but if you think you can just put up a store and people will come and buy, your wrong because there are at least 25 stores who sell the something you do and are out there advertising hard. Who do you think people will buy from?? You have to remind people you are there. Look at Coke do you think they need to advertise? Who doesn't know of Coke soda? Yet the have the best commercial during the Super Bowl that they pay millions for! Why?? SO get out there and advertise your store so you can make some money :-)

I pin all merchandise and tweet. I also post on Google+, my FB page and other sites such as WAHM that allow you to advertise on their site. I do a lot of retweeting and repinning to hep promote other sellers and to promote webstore.com. I am hazel eyes 767

When I pin or tweet I put #webstoreteamsellit at the end. If you put this hash tag at the end of the items you tweet and pin, I will be able to catch them easier and when I see this I will retweet or repin for you. Thanks for visiting this forum. Our goal is to get a dialogue going between sellers and buyers on webstore.com so more people know about the site and sell and buy on webstore.com.

Hello, I joined Twitter about a week ago and am still in the learning process (@feverama). I discovered Webstore.com's Twitter page (@shopwebstore). I followed them and it might be a good idea for any (hopefully all) interested members of this forum to do so also. I would also like to thank hazeleyes767 for welcoming me to the forum a while back. I too am recovering from some computer issues and wasn't able to respond as quickly as I should have. #webstore.com
Thanks again,
stormseller

I am glad you came back. Whenever I tweet, I always put #webstoreteamsellit. That way people of like mind can easily find my tweets. I invite you to use this hashtag and when I see it I will retweet it. Welcome back always. Thanks for posting. We are a small forum but growing.

Thanks for the tip on webstore.com on twitter. I just went there and followed a bunch of the people listed there. This way we can all help each other by tweeting other webstore.com sellers. This is awesome, thanks again. Together we can all make webstore.com known to the world!!!!!!

How do you bring customers into your Webstore? Since I only use Twitter, that's how I hope to get some visitors and hopefully customers. Now I want to say something about the way I use Twitter and if somebody wants to re-tweet my tweets - Hey, I'm all for it. I would much rather tweet from Twitter so I could add a picture of the item, and compose my own words. I like to direct my tweets to my Special Sales, Store Categories, or About this Store pages. Also, by linking to those pages, I do not get the inflated number of visits on an item. If I see an item's visits increase, I know someone looked at it. If you are wondering what I mean by inflated numbers, try this. Open a tab or window to the page that shows the number of visits. From another tab or window, tweet an item and immediately refresh the first tab. Sometimes the visitor number can jump by 5-10 visits and no one had time to read your tweet and click on it. If I tweet a book with a picture and a few words, but link to my store category "Books & Magazines", I feel there's a better chance of having several items looked at, rather than just the one tweeted. Who knows, you might tweet one book, but end up selling another because they ended up in the category. But, that's just me. Maybe it's just different strokes for different folks.

Sounds like a good strategy to me. Are you on Pinterest. It is like twitter but with pictures of your products. If you want to join Pinterest, just email me at dancingrandma@att.com and I will send you an invitation. I am new at all this networking but believe eventually it will all pay off, as you know it is all about getting the name out there. Thanks for posting.
